zen-Babel is a translation app that supports up to 21 languages using downloadable language packs and on-device AI (a local LLM) on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
In addition to the iOS version—available as a one-time purchase of 150 yen with no subscriptions or ads—we also offer a Mac version where you can try new features currently under development.

On supported devices, simply enable Apple Intelligence or download language packs from the standard Translate app to translate text even when traveling without mobile data or Wi-Fi. You can translate typed text, text files stored on your iPhone, Word documents, and PDFs, as well as extract text from images.
zen-Babel never sends your documents over the network—even when connected to Wi-Fi—making it suitable for handling sensitive business documents and privacy-critical content.
You can choose between traditional machine translation based on trained data and AI-powered translation using Apple Intelligence. Use fast and stable machine translation for long documents, or switch to AI translation when you need more natural, context-aware results.
The app also features Translation Clutch, which highlights the original text and translation side by side. When a translation is unclear, you can refer to the original or make quick edits before retranslating. This is especially useful for long texts or fragmented conversations.
